Creator outreach email template for Shopify brands

A creator invitation should answer three questions quickly: why this person, why this product, and what arrangement is on offer. Use the draft below as a starting point, then add an observation that could only apply to the creator you are contacting.

Your message

Subject: Your brand × Creator name: an idea for your audience

Hi Creator name,

I run Your brand. Your [specific post or tutorial] stood out because [genuine observation]. I think Your product could be relevant to the audience questions you cover about [specific use case].

We are putting together an affiliate partnership with [commission basis and rate]. [Explain whether product access or a separate fee is included.] There is no guaranteed earnings amount.

Would you like a short product overview and the program details? If it is not a fit, no problem.

Lead with a specific reason for the partnership

Read enough of the creator’s work to identify a real connection. Mention a tutorial, comparison, or recurring audience question and explain why your product belongs in that context. A vague compliment creates no useful information for the recipient. A concrete observation also helps you assess whether you are contacting a suitable partner rather than personalizing a poor-fit prospect.

Keep the product explanation centered on a use case. Instead of describing your entire Shopify catalog, explain the problem one product addresses and who is most likely to benefit. Link to a clean product or educational page if needed. Do not attach a large asset pack or ask the creator to read a lengthy contract before expressing basic interest.

Describe compensation without blurring the offer

If the offer is commission only, say so plainly. If you can send a sample, explain whether it is available without any publishing obligation or belongs to a separate agreed brief. Leave placeholders for the actual commission basis and rate until you have approved them. An email generator cannot decide commercially sustainable terms on behalf of your store.

A creator may respond with a content production fee, usage-rights request, or preferred collaboration format. Treat that response as useful information. Ask what deliverables the proposal covers and separate content creation from affiliate revenue tracking in your budget. Do not assume that sending a product buys a positive review, an advertising license, or ongoing access to the creator’s audience.

Follow up with context and stop when appropriate

If you send a follow-up, add something helpful: a clearer product use case, an answer to a likely question, or a relevant launch date. Keep it brief and maintain a record of replies so a creator does not receive duplicate messages from different team members. Check applicable communication requirements for your market and respect a request to stop contact.

Once the creator is interested, move from outreach to onboarding. Send the agreed commercial details, the correct program access route, and one useful next step. Track the invitation separately from joining and first publication. This keeps your recruitment reporting honest and helps you see whether the next improvement belongs in the email or in the experience after the reply.

Worked example · illustrative scenario

Example: replacing an empty compliment

A fictional stationery store changes “We love your content” to “Your video on planning a research week showed three different notebooks; our lay-flat project notebook might fit the experiment log you described.” The revised opening explains the product match. It still leaves the creator free to decide whether the product is actually suitable.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send the generated email immediately?

Review it first. Replace every bracketed instruction, verify the commercial details, and add a real observation about the recipient. The tool creates a draft and does not send it.

Should I include the commission in the first email?

Provide enough detail to distinguish commission-only participation from a paid content brief. If a rate is not approved, avoid presenting it as a confirmed offer.

What should the call to action ask for?

Ask for a small next step, such as permission to share product and program details. Reserve onboarding instructions and detailed assets for creators who express interest.
